New date for the OpenDay: MicroStep celebrates in 2024
The grand opening of the new MicroStep CompetenceCenter South has been postponed. The open day of the technology and logistics center in Bad Wörishofen will now take place on June 13, 2024
Published 18.04.2023 | Erich Wörishofer
The OpenDay Bad Wörishofen scheduled for May 25, 2023, is postponed. The technology and logistics center at the company's headquarters in Bavaria will now be formally inaugurated with the public in June 2024. "We were perfectly on schedule to date, with the first departments about to move in. Unfortunately, we now had to deal with major water damage in the administrative part of the building, presumably caused by a technical defect, which will require refurbishment over several months," explains Johannes Ried, Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH. "But we're already looking forward to an incomparable event next year, and we'd like to extend a cordial invitation already!"
MicroStep Europa GmbH has invested a lot in its infrastructure in recent years. In 2015, the company moved to its current headquarters in Bad Wörishofen; in 2021, the new CompetenceCenter North, training and demonstration center of the branch in Dorsten (NRW). In March 2022, the starting signal was given for the construction of the CompetenceCenter South in the direct vicinity of the company headquarters in Bavaria. 5 million euros is being invested by MicroStep Europa in the technology and logistics center on a 3,700 m² site. The logistics center has 1,500 m² of storage space, and in the showroom a variety of solutions for cutting, bending, deburring and more are now available on 1,350 m² for training and demonstration purposes.
However, the grand opening planned for May 25 with customers, partners, suppliers, neighbors and technology enthusiasts now had to be postponed. The new date for the OpenDay is June 13, 2024 – then again with a mix of technical presentations, machine shows and a great entertainment and evening program.
Open House with best possible conditions in summer 2024
To celebrate the milestone in the company's history accordingly and to stick to the original concept, the management decided to set the new date in June 2024. "Our new building is a major milestone in our company history. It is therefore important to us that we can present it to the public in its entirety – under the best possible conditions: We would like to have a wonderful summer festival!", says Johannes Ried. That's why it was decided to postpone the festival for a whole year, he said. "We are already looking forward to an incomparable event next year and cordially invite you to celebrate with us on June 13, 2024," says Johannes Ried.

New demonstration center with 1350 m² showroom starts operation
A centrally important part of the building of the new MicroStep CompetenceCenter is fortunately not directly affected by the renovation work: Now, customers and interested parties can get to know the broad product portfolio of MicroStep Europa in the demonstration center. "In our 1350 m² showroom, both in Bad Wörishofen and in Dorsten, we demonstrate the possibilities offered by different cutting solutions from small to large with plasma, laser, oxyfuel and waterjet technology – in 2D and also in 3D. In addition, we will also be presenting the many advantages of our new press brakes and systems for automation, deburring and more in the new CompetenceCenter South," says Johannes Ried.
