Klöckner & Co Deutschland GmbH manufactures steel and metal pre-products and assemblies for demanding customers in industry and trade. The company is also one of the leading multi metal distributors in Germany. It is part of the globally active Klöckner & Co SE Group, which employs almost 10,000 people worldwide.
Like its predecessor, the MG-PrBS 12001.30 at Klöckner & Co. at the Kaufungen site near Kassel has a working area of 12,000 x 3,000 mm. It has been expanded to include technologies for bevel cutting, drilling and later chamfering.
The steel trader and metal processor Klöckner & Co. serves with its group in 15 countries around 150,000 customers. There are 16 regional branches in Germany alone. For cutting their material, some locations have relied on CNC cutting technology from MicroStep for years. A new multifunctional plasma cutting machine of the MG series with the technology for drilling, bevel cutting and subsequent weld edge preparation has been in Kaufungen near Kassel for a few weeks.
The products of the internationally operating company Klöckner & Co. are in great demand by industry and trade. The company, which operates from Duisburg, Germany, is known as a steel trader and metalworker for its extensive activities in the field of planning and manufacturing preliminary products and assemblies made of steel and metal. With its 16 locations, Klöckner & Co Germany is also one of the country's leading multi metal distributors. More than 1,100 employees join the company every day to keep the performance promise: "We make the added value".
In order to offer customers and partners the highest possible quality with fast delivery, the company is constantly investing in the latest technologies. Since the end of 2015, a new MicroStep drilling and plasma cutting system has been in operation at the Kaufungen site near Kassel. Since 2011, Klöckner has been using technology from the leading provider for automated plasma cutting here, as well as at other branches.
Special attention: Drilling up to 40 mm and threading up to M33
At the end of the year a multifunctional cutting system of the MG series was put into operation. Like its predecessor, the MG-PrBS 12001.30 has a working area of 12,000 x 3,000 mm. The top product among the MicroStep cutting systems is built for long-term use in industry, meets the highest demands for precision, performance and operability, and can combine a wide range of technology options on one machine for processing sheet metal, tubes, profiles and domes.
In the specifications, the drilling technology was given a special meaning for the system, which was provided with a special coating. A drilling spindle enables drilling up to 40 mm and threads up to M33. A tool magazine for eight tools ensures fast, automated tool change. A pneumatic stabilization system ensures high stability and precision of the machine during drilling.
