  • 2D plasma

At the beginning of July 2012, Lamborghini completed a brand new two-story design center in Emilia (IT) for the development of prototypes and pre-series models of the well-known brand - a MicroStep plasma system will play a key role in the future.

On the first floor are development facilities, on the second floor is a mini production line. This is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to double the output of a classic production line. The mini production line is used to determine the individual steps in the assembly of pre-series models in order to ensure consistent standards for subsequent series production. Lamborghini announced that this building is the first of its kind in Italy to obtain the "Energy Class A" certification (annual energy consumption ≤ 8 Kwh/m3) .

The equipment of the consistently designed development rooms includes a compact MicroStep plasma cutting machine of the "MicroCut" series, which is equipped with a Thermal Dynamics UltraCut plasma power source. The CNC cutting system is used to produce precise parts for prototype production from mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
